Description

Lake Ratzeburg "he invites you to swim".
Pogeez - During the summer months, Lake Ratzeburg is an ideal romping place for water sports enthusiasts of all kinds. Especially the sailors have in 9 km length from the northern tip at the ferry house Rothenhusen to the island town Ratzeburg a wonderful sailing area. Now, where the road and the railroad line touch the western shore of the lake most closely, we pass through the village of Pogeez. It is worth stopping here to take a refreshing dip in the clear waters of Lake Ratzeburg. Here, to his astonishment, he finds a bathing place that he will gladly visit again and again amidst the scenic beauty.

Not only a stone-free, shallow bathing ground for children, an approx. 60 m long bathing jetty and a bathing island in the swimmer's zone as well as sanitary facilities and changing rooms are available. A large well-kept sunbathing lawn serves for resting and sunbathing. A small playground with bathing area is available for the youngest bathers. The kiosk in the entrance area provides for the physical well-being of the visitors.

The supervision of the bathing area is carried out by DLRG lifeguards.

Prices: Children up to 3 years free, youths up to 16 years pay 1,00 € and adults pay 2,00 € for the day ticket. From 5 pm there is a uniform price for all visitors of € 1.00.

The DLRG local group Pogeez-Holstendorf e. V. operates this bathing place since 1954 on a voluntary basis. It has gained recognition far beyond the borders of the Duchy of Lauenburg County as an exemplary facility of its kind because of its pronounced child- and family-friendly orientation.
