Bammelecke

The bathing place Bammelecke in Berlin-Grünau, a district of Köpenick, is an open bathing place at the long lake, a widened area of the river Dahme. Supposedly, the bathing place got its name from the fact that in the past ships ran aground in the shallow shore areas or started to "bammeln". The bathing place is easily accessible and can be reached by streetcar, bicycle or on foot. Only by car you have to park a little away. Once you arrive, a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by green forests and a beautiful view over the lake awaits the visitor. Ideal for nature lovers! For the sake of completeness it should be said that nudist bathing is also allowed.

Bathing place Bammelecke

The small bathing place is protected from the busy boat traffic on the Dahme and is about 60 m long and offers a sandy beach surrounded by extensive forest areas. If you get hungry from all the swimming and relaxing, you can treat yourself to a hearty country burger or a cool ice cream sundae at the nearby western restaurant "Richtershorn am See". The perfect end after a sunny day of swimming.

The water rescue team of the DLRG always operates the station on site at the weekend. There they are Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 clock to 19:00 clock voluntarily in use to ensure safety.

According to the EU classification of 2016, the water quality is excellent and suitable for swimming.

Directions to the Bammelecke

Streetcar

The easiest way to get to Bammelecke is by S-Bahn and streetcar. Take the S-Bahn to the station Berlin-Grünau and from there continue with the streetcar 68, which goes in about 16 minutes directly to the station Bammelecke. You have reached your destination!

Bicycle and on foot

For the sporty ones it offers itself to drive or run with the bicycle. Through the beautiful forests, the way is definitely an experience and a good way to slowly escape the city noise. On foot you need about 45 minutes. By bike it is 11 minutes.

Car

You can't drive directly to the Bammelecke bathing area by car, because there are no parking spaces. Nearby there is a water sports school, a rowing club and a restaurant. You can park your car there. After about 7 minutes walk you will arrive at the bathing area.
