Description

The lido Orankesee, founded as early as 1929, is the only official bathing area on a lake in the Lichtenberg/Prenzlauer Berg area besides the lido Weißensee. The Orankesee is not particularly large but the outdoor pool is all the more impressive and well equipped. It has a large sandy beach and a sunbathing lawn. Parking and bike racks are, as seen in the photos, as well as a streetcar station nearby. Getting there should therefore not be a problem. For sporty diversion, besides splashing in the water, there is a beach volleyball court as well as table tennis tables. The special highlight of the outdoor pool is the large, 52 m long water slide. Those who like it a bit more dignified can rent a beach chair and enjoy the view of the water. There is a snack bar for the young and old and sanitary facilities are also available. Important for young families: there is a playground, a second water slide for children and a separate non-swimmer area. For the safety of all bathers, a lifeguard supervises bathing operations.

Parking and how to get to the outdoor pool

The lido Orankesee is very well connected to public transport. You can reach the open-air swimming pool via various streetcar and bus connections.

The streetcar lines M4 (Buschallee/Hansastr.), M5 (Freienwalder Str.) and the 27 (Stadion Buschallee/Suermondtstr.) stop nearby.

Bus line 259 also stops at Buschallee/Hansastr. like the M4. If you prefer to drive your own car, there is a parking lot right at the main entrance. But here, too, the old rule applies: "First come, first served".

For cyclists, there are numerous bicycle racks right next to the car parking area. So every environmentally conscious bather will also find a place for his bike.

Orankesee water quality

The water quality for the Orankesee and thus also for the bathing area is stated by the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGeSo) as excellent (as of 2017).

In the year 2021, the water quality of the bathing place Strandbad Orankesee was last checked and submitted to the European Environment Agency for the current report. The current water quality of 2021 is very good suitable for bathing.

Moreover, since the water quality has been classified with the top grade "excellent" for 5 consecutive years the bathing place reaches the highest Swimcheck water quality rating of 5/5 points.

Ein wirklich tolles Freibad direkt in unserer Nachbarschaft! Sehr gepflegt, tolle Rutsche für die Kids, das obligatorische Eis und die Pommes gibt es auch und Dusche und Toiletten sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Volle Punktzahl 😀
