Strandbad Weißensee

Strandbad Weißensee is located in the administrative district of Pankow in the district of Weißensee in the north of Berlin. Its central location makes it perfect for a spontaneous swimming trip after work. Including cocktail bar and sunset. The disadvantage of the good location is the high number of visitors, especially on weekends. The lido offers a lot of equipment and variety in a compact space. Instead of a sunbathing lawn, there is mainly sandy beach. The yellow Baltic sand stretches along the entire concrete seawall. Although the substance is somewhat aged, it still exudes a special charm. Concrete stairs lead from the shore down to the water. In the middle of the lido, the stairs first lead to the non-swimmer area for the younger guests. A little further back follows the swimmers' area. From here, for example, you can comfortably swim to a small platform and from there enjoyably jump into the water or do your laps.

Facilities, gastronomy and families

Those who have exerted themselves enough in the water can relax on the shore afterwards. For a fee, guests can rent a sun lounger along with a parasol.

A sufficiently large food and beverage offer is provided by various snack and beverage stations in the outdoor pool. By the way: If you only want to use the gastronomy on the terraces and enjoy the view, you don't have to pay an entrance fee until 19:00.

Especially important for young families: further equipment of the lido includes a climbing frame, a non-swimmer area, toilets, lockers and showers.

For the necessary safety during the bathing operation, a lifeguard is available from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Parking and how to get to the swimming pool

Due to its location close to the city center, the outdoor pool is optimally connected to public transport. You can reach the outdoor pool via various streetcar and bus connections. In only 16 minutes you can reach the outdoor pool via the streetcar line M4 from Alexanderplatz. Furthermore, the lines 12, 50, M1, M2 and M13 also lead to the streetcar station "Berliner Allee/Indira-Gandhi-Str. (Berlin)".

Those who prefer to (or have to) travel by bus can use lines 255, 259 or N50.

For car drivers the search for a parking space is difficult, because there are no parking spaces at the lido. If you want to park your car, you will have to use the surrounding streets.

We therefore recommend that you take the streetcar or bicycle to the beach. For bicycles there are various possibilities to connect.

Boat rental Weißensee

On the south shore of the lake there is a boat rental. Ideal for those who want to enjoy the sunny weather from a boat. From the middle of the lake you have a wonderful view of the big water fountain, over to the lido and the green shore areas.

White Lake

The White Lake in the district of Weissensee is a bathing lake with a 21-hectare surrounding park. The park consists of a 1.3 kilometer long circular path along the lake shore. Along the path you will encounter numerous sculptures, a small game preserve and the historic Café Milchhäuschen on the west shore. Next to the café is also an observation terrace, from which you have a beautiful view over the lake and the opposite east shore including the lido.
